i tried not to think too much abt this race today during cny.. thinking too much abt it wont make me run faster rite? anw it was VJC Annual Cross Country 2006.. sort of like a big event for us crossers. emily's dad gave me a ride cos we must reach sch at 7 to do warm ups and stretchings. imagine if i were to reach sch at 7 by bus, i wld have to wake up at 5.15?!

actually the whole run was a blur. i remember the Sakae boss pressing the horn and suddenly everyone was rushing like mad, i was lagging a few seconds behind cos i haven start the time on my blardy watch. and then i see some ppl starting to chiong in front of me. just heck lah i jus started to rush and look for the crossers. the part to east coast was gd, i wld see throngs underneath me while me and aileen was over the bridge. ok we jus kept running and running. ok sze ling was in front and was slowly disappearing from us......

haha we overtook a Mr koh (i think). at the turning pt back to sch, aileen started to kick off and she was like abt 1m+ in front. i jus maintained and try to close up the distance. dunno y i jus dun wan to overtake so soon. this continued till the last stretch. i cld see everyone waiting for us. i saw cameras and ppl cheering. jus chiong lah duh. i tried not to look away from the finishing pt despite all the shouting and i came in 2nd. i also dunno how i did tat. well anw the prizes were so cool, sakae sushi and jean yip vouchers, a adidas bag and nb socks. well done! *the sakae sushi voucher was my motivation actually*

we had yusheng together outside the pe dept. we muttered stuff like 'stay injury-free' '1st for nationals' and 'sze ling get 1st for nationals' [yeah!]. special thxs to my dear Aquila hse comm members jenny, jacq, kaixiang and xiaoxian for the blue cloth!

aft this we went to Cafe Cartel at PS for JTS [junior treat senior]. i tot we were quite kind as we shared the ala carte dishes [actually the portions are v big] and we had vikings and the rock for desert. seriously we [szeling, lingxiu, aileen, zhen yi and me] gobbled it up and soon it was gone. oh ya the bread really went well with cheese+olive oil.

went back to sch to settle some hse stuff. ms rajan gave me a ride to the ppl's association, and i managed to look for an opening through the metal constuction block-ups. b4 i cld get in i stepped onto a rusty nail. i went right through my slipper, din noticed i had a wound unde my sole till i checked it later on. it din really bled but i'll take note if any weird symtoms.

thus my day was exciting and unlucy at the same time. wat really made me happy was tat all of us really did our best, and i hope we cld keep it up till nationals! and Aquila came in 2nd for overall in inter-hse cross and purple Pegasus kicked Ursa out of the 1st place. well done! ice ur legs ppl and we'll train tmr again!
